Our esteemed volunteers are the people who lead TREES OF AHMEDABAD. Looking to make a difference in this world! We are all Amdavadis who come from different backgrounds, joined together by our common interest - our love of trees. We believe in the cause and are passionate about contributing to our city's betterment. We are all volunteers working for this project pro-bono. This is a citizen initiative and everyone is welcome to join. Only qualification required is passion and dedication to preserve trees.

Bandish Soparkar and Saumya Raval
Legal advisors
Under the guidance of Bandish Soparkar, who is a well known high court lawyer, we have filed 4 RTI's and had meetings with the Garden department regarding the mapping.

Saumya is a social worker and lawyer from Gujarat National Law University. He is currently working as legislative assistant to a Member of Parliament. He is interested in advocacy of socio-legal and environmental policy issues.
Parth K Shah
Type & Graphic Designer
An incredibly valued asset to our team, Parth has designed the logo and brand identity. He is always keen to give valuable suggestions and has also been an enthusiastic volunteer in mapping sessions. With a keen belief in the power of charity and volunteer work, Parth Shah is committed to changing the world.
Greenstraw
Tree Plantation Drive
Pooja Mathur as the head of Greenstraw collaborated with us to do a tree planting initiative. Our volunteers helped plant 15 trees at three separate locations across Ahmedabad.

Greenstraw Foundation promotes events to make people aware about sustainable living by providing alternatives to lead a least impact life. They also run awareness campaigns by identifying various environmental factors that needs to be addressed in our communities.
Our Story
This is our first team that literally was the spark of the idea of starting tree mapping. We are blessed to have the support and advice of our seniors in the field of landscape conservation.
Nagendra Purohit
Mentor and Guide
Nagendra sir has a deep knowledge along with practical know-how of ecological value based systems. Thanks to his enthusiasm, keen eye and extensive travelling, he has a mental map of various trees in Ahmedabad and takes us to forgotten lanes with old ancient trees and tells amazing stories about them.
Santosh Yadav
Senior Botanist, Taxonomist
Santosh Yadav works as an expert freelance native landscape consultant for various prestigious institutes and companies all over India. He is an avid supporter and has been crucial in giving suggestions.
Shilpa Gavane
Tree mapper and Photographer
Shilpa is an architect, photographer and teacher. She works as a freelance photographer for architecture, interior and landscape projects. She also teaches at institutions on subjects related to visual design.
Jaimin Bhavsar
Graphic designer and photographer
Jaimin works as a brand strategist, graphic designer and photographer at the firm 'Ochre Revival' based in Ahmedabad.
Ishita Modi
Gujarati Copywriter
Ishita is a government employee working at Gujarat University. She is also mother of a beautiful daughter named Vrusha.
Shirin Qureshi
Tree spotter
Shirin is a botanist and is excellent at connecting with people. Among other things she has done research on moringa's medicinal properties. She is an avid tree enthusiast.
